Our farm is currently still in the development phase. We have a lot of ground to cover, literally.
Here is what is currently in the works:
Native Tree and Shrub production - We are growing many native tree and shrubs for use in our own operations as well as for wholesale distribution for other landscape professionals. Though not ready for harvest, our current inventory includes Nannyberry, Highbush Cranberry, Sumac, Dogwood, Red and White Oak, White Pine, and Silver Maple
Forestry Products - We are assembling our wood mill for processing timber and other wood products. Our goal is have 0% Wood Waste. This means 100% of the waste generated from our tree care operations will be diverted into reusable material and products like timber for building, firewood for fuel, wood chips for compost production or trail maintenance, and sawdust for composting or livestock bedding. We are even actively looking for craftspeople and artisans who might be interested in unique wood products like burls and roots. No wood goes to waste.
Rockery - 95% of work on a farm is picking rocks. I don’t think that is an exaggeration. We will begin stockpiling and screening rocks for use in our own operations or by other landscape professionals. We have many unique pieces of moss covered limestone, perfect for developing a natural aesthetic.
